About
Welcome to the Wall Street Blog of the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism class on “How to Cover Wall Street taught by Greg David.
First we need a better name. The winning suggestion wins an exemption from a quiz or story idea.
Students are required to make five posts for the rest of the semester and to make at least three comments on posts by other students. Students may choose a company or issue to follow or to range widely over the material covered by the class. Students must e-mail Professor Greg David by Sept. 29 on whether they are participating in the blog or doing a different interactive assignments, and which of the subjects options they will pursue.
Each post is to be modeled on the point of view journalism practiced by most online journalism sites. The Silicon Alley Insider is a good model as are the pieces published on the Heard on the Street page in the Wall Street Journal and the Lex page of the Financial Times. Each post most involve reporting (at least three sources) and include interactive elements including links, audio and/or video.
Grade will be based on both content and interactive execution.
