Scan the News Using Google News Timeline

October 30th, 2009 by Consuella Askew

Don’t have time to check your favorite news outlets individually? Or perhaps, you were out of touch for several days and missed the local news. Use Google News Timeline to catch up on the news! It allows you to scan news across formats (web, newspaper, news magazines, etc.) and by time period (day, week, month, etc.). This tool provides a perfect way to see how coverage for a specific topic has shaped over time (e.g., health care  reform) across the news landscape. You can even scan the news in a specific publication such as the New York Times or Daily News. Check it out!

Go to newstimeline.googlelabs.com and type in your search query, or select the timeframe you wish to scan!

There’s also a helpful Frequently Asked Questions guide, and you can use the Tutorials and Guides page for further assistance.
