In honor of Black History Month, the Research Center has featured several books and DVDs that deal with African American journalists, journalism and culture. Please consider stopping by and checking out one today. These materials are featured on our homepage via our goodreads page.

The Spring semester started today. Starting on February 1st, we will begin our extended hours again. We will be opened from 9 am-9 pm Monday-Thursday, 9 am – 5pm on Friday and Saturday. We’ll remain closed on Sunday. For other closing, please visit on our Hours and Schedule link on our About Us page.

There’s a surprising amount of free resources out there for you to take advantage of. We’ll start to feature some of these resources here on the Research Center’s blog. We’ll start with the New York Public Library and New York State Library.
Starting with the New York Public Library (NYPL) you can find articles, facts, statistics, news, images, and more by accessing this link:

A delayed Happy New Year to all! The Research Center is open and ready to help with your research needs during January Academy. Please note, our hours are Monday-Friday, 9-5 pm, and we are closed on the weekends. We will resume extended weekend/weeknight hours on Feb 2nd, 2010.

Yesterday, Google announced that they would enable people to “find and read full text legal opinions from U.S. federal and state district, appellate and supreme courts using Google Scholar.” By clicking on the radio button “Legal opinions and journals” in Google Scholar, you can search by case or topic.
