Is King’s Soapy Romp with Carrey a Sign of Progress or Just More Gay Teasing?
Larry King said his heterosexuality was tempted by his Late Show bubble bath paling with Jim Carrey. King said in his blog.
The tub was slippery. The scene was romantic…so romantic that I almost — almost, lost my heterosexuality. And to tell you the truth, I think Jim felt the same way. The lighting was perfect. The Champagne wasn’t bad either. The bubbles were very…bubbly. All it lacked was music. Sinatra would have been nice.
Don’t know that I believe that Carrey was as tempted – if he has any yearnings for same sex-sex those yearnings were certainly quashed, at least temporarily, by this creepy encounter.
I am not sure if this episode is evidence that gay-teasing is still acceptable in mainstream humor or that people have progressed enough that King can joke around about a bit of a man crush on the svelte Carrey.

First, thank you so much for bringing this to my attention. Second, I almost can’t believe this is real.
Larry King is by far my favorite TV news personality.
I was so happy to learn that the man who two years ago admitted in a conversation with Roseanne Barr that he’d never used the internet:
(KING: I’ve never done it, never gone searching.
BARR: Oh, my God! It just opens up the whole universe. It’s so awesome. You would love it.
KING: No, I wouldn’t.
BARR: Anything you want to know.
KING: The wife loves it. I wouldn’t love it. What do you punch little buttons and things?)
now has a blog. I never went on it because I knew that it was ghostwritten by an intern. I figure this is the case with the Carrey post, but it may very well have been dictated by the man himself.
Larry King, by the way, who has never demonstrated the least bit of preparation for his interviews, much less curiosity for current events, has a great knowledge of baseball. I’ve seen him on PTI and he is a virtuoso.

Wow, this is possibly the single most disturbing thing I’ve ever seen. I’m just thankful that King kept his shirt on…
