For those of you interested in learning more about C.B.J. Snyder, see chapter 2, “Dawn of a New Century: C.B.J. Snyder, Master Builder and Art Patron,” in my book, Public Art for Public Schools (The Monacelli Press, 2009). In this chapter, I discuss Snyder’s architectural, engineering, and administrative innovations as well as his support of public art in schools. Morris High School is one of the Snyder buildings I featured.

No one said it isn’t beautiful. It just costs too much to make. Sailing ships across the Atlantic is also beautiful, and far more elegant than flying. It also just costs too much to do. Tragic. But true.

42 years ago when I was 13, I ran away from the first fat camp that existed for overweight boys.
Without going into all the gory details, I was caught and brought back to camp. my original punishment was to stay in the Directors office UFN. The office on day one had a couch and the Sunday NY Times. Laying on a couch reading the Sunday Times. Even at 13 the best punishment I have ever had. At lunchtime when they came to retrieve me, and I was laying on the couch reading, it was decided that real punismnet would be returnibng me to the world of exercises and stuff that I had run away from in the first place.

I like that too. Because when people don’t understand what they are doing, it is just useless.
If followed and used right, the concepts behind Social Media tools become more effective.

Thank you for the information on Mr. Snyder. I am the current building principal at the Morris High School Campus which now accomodates 5 small schools including my own, the School For Excellence. I will add this information to our efforts to insure that the present Morris
Campus students know their heritage.

The media coverage has sucked. Every single report takes the ‘Latina Women ” quote out of context and repeats the republican talking points. She isa brilliant woman and will be confirmed despited the racist rethugs who shudder at a non-millionaire white male joining the court. She is in fact a moderate. For all the knee jerk opposition, Obama may as well nominate a true liberal next time. They will oppose any Obama nominee so why not swing for the fences.
