Blogs at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism

About me

I am a Visiting Professor at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism, where I teach Broadcast Writing & Production, serve as the school’s Broadcast Writing Coach, and audit as many classes as possible on new digital storytelling tools.

I am on leave from my “day job” as Senior Newswriter for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams, where I also serve as an editor of the broadcast’s website.

I am a freelance contributor to Sirius Radio’s OutQ News, where I write and report on legal issues of importance to the LGBT community.

I also write from time to time for Msnbc.com, Salon.com, and Slate. com, among others, and work as an editor and writing coach for private clients.

Here are a few of my clips:

I have a J.D. from the NYU School of Law and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Brown University.  I was born and raised in New York City and Westchester County and currently live in the West Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.
