Tartan Christmas Fair

December 13th, 2008 by Alex Green IV

First Presbyterian Church held its 17th annual Tartan Christmas Fair on Friday December 5th and Saturday December 6th, 2008. The fair is named tartan to reflect its Scottish heritage, as the Church of Scotland is Presbyterian. The Scottish word tartan is a term for the design, which some may call plaid, often worn on kilts–a knee length garment worn by men and boys in the 16th century Scottish Highlands.

The fair features Christmas greenery, holiday cafe, crafts & gifts, white elephant, books & records, a children’s boutique, and a silent auction among other sections. Admission is $2.00 for the general public and $1.00 for seniors and students.
